The New York Times found the strangest, smelliest, most exotic dorms in the US. Apologies if you call one of these home but…”interesting long pink insects” and the smell of “mildew and old people” sounds like a lot to put up with for a college education.
Actually a lot of these dorms, like the 100-year-old Quadrangle Hall (what a name) at the University of Iowa inspires students to become closer. As one student who survived its moldy corners, tiny rooms, and prison-like structure said, “I would not take it back for the world.”
